Youth in Action EVS
European Voluntary Service is part of the new EU Youth in Action Programme in the field of youth, which will be implemented between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2013
The Youth in Action Programme makes an important contribution to the development of competences and can therefore help provide young people with opportunities for non-formal and informal learning with a European dimension.
The Youth in Action Programme is a programme for all. It encourages the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities and addresses young people aged between 13 and 30.
European Voluntary Service is an individual or group project involving young people in a non-profit-making unpaid activity for the benefit of the general public in a country other than the country of residence.
ELIGIBILITY
• Age: 16-30
• Project duration: 2-12 months or
2 weeks – 2 months for young people with less opportunities
• Size: 1 – 100 people can participate in one project

Promoting young people’s active citizenship in general
and their European citizenship in particular;
• Developing solidarity and promoting tolerance among young
people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the EU;
