In Greece making traditional musical instruments is a ‘grandfather skill’ inherited through the ages and rarely shared outside a family. In Greece people with these skills will always have work. Your work place is right next to the apartment where you will live and you will usually work in the workshops alongside other short-term volunteers from different countries. Sweden

Bluehill youth culture

imageBlue Hill has long experience in working with disadvantaged youth from the suburbs of Stockholm. The activities will be based on methods used in the local community "Youth to youth" where older youngsters are role models for younger ones. The main aim of the project is to create a positive environment full of activities suppressing unwanted behavior. Blue hill work with many activities so the youngsters have a lot of "action" in his/her spare time. solborg norwayThis project takes place in Solborg, in the southern part of Norway, about 1 hour north of Oslo. Solborg is a Camphill community. People with special needs, co-workers (unsalaried workers) and their families live and work together in the village. Everybody contributes to the life of the community according to his or her ability to do so. About fifty

Adice children's activities

They hold workshop in painting, pottery, engraving, design... and just about anything creative. Parks for the people

Poland parksThe park of Bystrzyca Klodzka, as well as surrounded parks, used to be places where people went to relax and enjoy their free time. They were a common meeting place for all inhabitants and truly important part of this beautiful medieval town. Now local community wants to bring them back to life and make them open for everyone: children, families and elderly. Skill your time

imageThe association works organizing leisure time activities, cultural and free time activities, youth exchanges, and supporting the creative workshops. The activities of the volunteer on this project will be to support these workshops but also to create new ones. The existing workshops, created by the project, are: puppets made by papier-mâché,

These projects offer you the possibility to work in one of two schools in Albert Town. An infant and primary school and a High school. Both schools are looking for volunteers who are interested in sports and have some skills in sports coaching.

Mighty Gully

As a volunteers you will work in Mighty Gully Youth project which is a small project that has been running for 15 years, and was originally set up to support homeless young people and teach them carving skills, now mighty gully is home to a number of skilled carvers producing pieces of art they want to sell, but they have limited marketing skills and need support to set up a website.

Caribbean Christian Centre for the deaf

This project is particularly looking for volunteers with skills in teaching sports or sports coaching, arts or music. The school would like to recruit two Christian volunteers to work alongside their school and missionary team. It is important to gain a basic knowledge of American Sign Language before starting the project and to be committed to continue studying this whilst on the project.

Negril Basic School

This school is particularly happy to host volunteers who have experience working with children of pre-school age or who have completed studies in this area. The volunteers should be self motivated and able to use their initiative. The two volunteers will double the current school staff. Paula the mentor on this project would like volunteers to be practicing Christians and she will welcome them to her church as well as the school.

Old Harbour school & social

As a volunteer you will work in Marlie Mount school a primary and infant school or in a school for children/teenagers with Special Educational Needs. The school is particularly interested in sports or arts. The SEN school is small with around 20 pupils and a volunteer can either work full time in this school or work in the state school and work 2 hours each day with this project.

Peru

As a volunteer you can work on several projects all run by SKIP. SKIP is interested
in volunteers who like to work with
children and speak at least some Spanish.
The Volunteer can help in the additional
afterschool classes, be an English teacher,
or help with the nursery project.

As a volunteers in this project you will work in an environmental project located in and
around the rainforest. FUDEBIOL is interested in volunteers who will like to work outside and enjoy hard maintenance work , for example of the channel in the lagoon and the trails inside the reserve.

Malta

As a volunteer your task will be:  To keep the sanctuary in extreme cleanliness and the cats happy and healthy, to give advice to cat owners re any problem with their cat(s), to give advice to cat feeders re their colonies and help wherever possible, to raise funds for the above tasks to be conducted efficiently,  to respond to calls from the general public
regarding cats in distress ( e.g. car victims), to evaluate prospective adoptions to ‘new’ homes and to do vet runs for cats at the sanctuary which show symptoms of irregular health.

Manav Kalyan Trust
Volunteers can work on several different projects
all run by Manav Kalyan Trust. Manav Kalyan
Trust is interested in volunteers that can organise
activities in sport, dance, drama, arts & crafts, music
and gardening.
The project work takes place in three schools, a deaf
school, a school with children and young people
with learning and physical difficulties and a school
for the blind. Other tasks include classroom support
and helping with the preparation and cooking
of food for the school which has over 400 children.
The school runs Monday to Friday although orphans
and boarders stay during the weekend.
