Short-term EVS

It has been designed specifically for young people who can not commit to a long-term activity at this period in their life.

The commission’s definition of people eligible for this programme is “Young people experiencing disadvantage”.  But, don’t let this put you off. The disadvantage you are experiencing may be something as simple as that you are:

1) Geographically disadvantaged – you live in an area which is far from public services, has poor transport and this has prevented you from gaining training, employment or adult education for example.

2) Culturally/Ethnically disadvantaged – You may be from a minority ethnic or religious group and live in a community where you have not enjoyed equal access to services.

3) Or, you may have experienced other, more significant disadvantages, such as time spent in a prison or a past experience of drug or alcohol misuse.
