Training

As we are a national organisation with people working in London, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Essex, we can often meet you close to where you live. Often however we feel the best way to really get a full understanding of the programme is by attending one of our preparation meetings. These are usually run in a major city, Oxford, Manchester, York, Chester or London for example and give you the opportunity to meet other potential volunteers and sometimes some volunteers from other EU countries, undertaking their placement in the UK.

These training meetings are held either on one day or over two days with an overnight stay. The accommodation will be paid for by Everything’s Possible and, once you sign up to an EVS activity, we will reimburse you for National Express coach travel, to this and any other meetings you attend with us. The idea of the preparation training is to allow you to meet other like minded volunteers, to discuss ideas, fears and interests and possibly, meet someone who will go to the same country or town as you, who you may meet up with again when on your European Voluntary Service.

We will help you to consider the activities which are available, the possible countries and, pros & cons of various activities. Also, we will help you to complete the necessary forms, and if you wish, produce an European CV, which will be more relevant to a host agency than what you may currently have. Finally, where possible, we invite volunteers from other countries, who we are hosting, in order that you may get first hand knowledge of the country where they are from and, where you may wish to volunteer. For us to get to know you and you to get to know us...and hopefully, to have a bit of fun!
