| | | | | | It is for volunteers able to commit to a period of volunteering from six months to twelve months.
|
 | You get to choose both the country and the activity you wish to volunteer in. There are activities working with people, e.g. the disabled, the elderly, young people or children. There are activities working on environmental issues, such as conservation projects, recycling projects, projects with birds and animals and, there are community projects, such as youth information or music and dance. Whatever your interests, we are certain you will find something.
|
All your costs relating to the activity will be paid, for example, your return flight, your support and preparation (including the possibility to get some language training before departing.) You will also be invited to one of our preparation training meetings, where you will have the possibility to find out much more detailed information about the country and project. You will also be involved in preparation exercises and discussion with other volunteers.
| |
 | When on the project you will be provided with an allowance (equivalent to £25 - £30 depending on the cost of living in the country you choose.) You will be provided with a safe place to stay – this may be a shared flat, a host family, something like student halls or a Foyer, or your flat – again, the style of accommodation will depend on the country and activity which you choose. You will also be given either, money and facilities to prepare your own meals, or be provided with meals in your living project. You will know the set up of your chosen project, before you finally decide to go. On return after your activity, we will continue to offer you support and information on relevant programmes, which you may be interested in, such as Future Capital. Whilst away, if you are interested we can provide you with access to video conferencing support from us through a Web-cam.
